Frank, a Gilroy, CA native and former Major League Baseball pitcher, went to Gavilan College and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Braves in 1975 and playing with them until he was traded to the Houston Astros in 1979. As a reliever, Frank pitched in the 1980 National League Championship Series for the Astros. He played for the Astros until the 1983 season and finished his career in 1984 with the California Angels.

Frank moved back to Gilroy and purchased Marx Towing in 1993, becoming a hands-on owner and building the business into the well-respected towing and transport company it is today.
